Cultural Practice Lead Role

Join us in shaping a culturally responsive future.

We are seeking an experienced Cultural Practice Lead to drive our community initiatives in Western Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will lead the development and implementation of cultural safety practices and policies, ensuring the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people accessing our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for promoting cultural responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cultural safety is upheld in all aspects of our work.
  • Facilitate engagement activities, including meetings and workshops, to support the successful development and implementation of projects and policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience providing culturally safe services for Aboriginal children and families within child protection family support and community service in Western Australia.
  • Proven ability to guide and develop teams in risk assessment and client-centred, culturally respectful and safe practice within foster care and family support services.
  • Experience in engaging and collaborating with Aboriginal services, community leaders, and government bodies.
  • Understanding of the importance of Self-Determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.
  • Solid understanding of the core elements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principles.
