
Aboriginal Employment and Culture Specialist

We have an exciting role for a skilled professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Employment and Culture Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and develop Aboriginal employees, ensuring we have a diverse and inclusive workforce culture.
This permanent role will be based in a modern office environment with occasional visits to work sites. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships management and consulting skills, with the ability to partner with business leaders to influence outcomes that contribute directly to Diversity and Inclusion and Aboriginal Employment.
About the Role- To enable attraction, retention, and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees;
- To manage employment and engagement programs, and plans to support a diverse and inclusive workforce culture, in alignment with our Reconciliation Action Plan;
- To build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and facilitate partnerships that create long-term employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within our operations.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated experience working with a focus on people and culture to support Aboriginal employment and engagement;
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, cultural protocols, and experience leading initiatives to recruit, retain, and develop Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander talent;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally appropriate support and mentoring to employees;
- Ability to partner with business leaders to influence outcomes that contribute directly to D&I and Aboriginal Employment;
- Strong relationship management and consulting skills (influencing, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution).
