Senior Operations Manager

The role of Senior Operations Manager is pivotal in overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance and engineering functions within a hotel or resort. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests while safeguarding the owner's investment.

  • Collaborate with senior management to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for preventative maintenance across the property, upholding exceptional standards for guest experience.
  • Manage the maintenance request system, analyzing frequent issues, timeliness, and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Delegate general repairs and maintenance to the engineering team or contractors, ensuring high-quality work.
  • Champion resource management improvements and conservation practices.
  • Conduct routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other critical systems.
  • Liaise with directors regarding contractor use, controlling expenditure and ensuring quality standards.
  • Ensure efficient and hygienic waste removal, monitoring areas for cleanliness and odour control.
  • Closely collaborate with front desk and housekeeping to expedite room turnarounds.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical).
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Australian Standards expertise related to facilities management.
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience.
  • Strong project management experience.
