Senior Engineering Manager Role

The Senior Engineering Manager is a critical position that oversees the Maintenance and Engineering functions, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests while safeguarding the owner's investment. This role leads the daily operations of the Engineering Team, executing maintenance tasks and objectives efficiently to maintain the property and hotel operations at peak performance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to provide professional advisory and support services to meet strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience.
  • Manage and control the Maintenance Request System, analyzing frequent issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Delegate repairs and maintenance to the Engineering team or contractors as required.
  • Drive resource management improvements and conservation initiatives.
  • Conduct routine testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting systems.
  • Communicate closely with Directors regarding contractor use, expenditure, and work quality.
  • Ensure cost-effective and hygienic removal of rubbish from Hotel areas.
  • Cooperate with front desk and housekeeping teams regarding 'down' rooms.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Engineer (desired)
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical etc)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Awareness of Australian Standards related to facilities management
  • Body/Owners Corporation Experience
  • Strong project Management expertise
