About the Role

In this exciting position, you will work closely with our Engineering Services team to onboard buildings to the Switch Automation Platform. Our customers are leading real estate portfolios globally, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams based in various time zones, including Asia, Australia, and Europe.

This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering and offers a competitive hourly rate based on location and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Configuration: Implement and configure the Switch Platform for client-specific buildings and portfolios.
  • Alert Rule Management: Configure logical fault detection and diagnostic rules (Alerts) and maintain a library of common Alert rules for Switch Automation to use.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering analysis on building systems to identify performance improvements and optimization opportunities.
  • Project Support: Provide project support for hardware integration (meters, control systems, Switch Gateways, etc.) and software implementation projects.
  • Product Feedback: Provide feedback to the product team using your expertise to suggest meaningful improvements to the Switch Platform.
  • Process Improvement: Learn and improve the internal processes used by the various Switch teams, providing feedback on efficacy and uptake.
  • Service Verification: Verify that the services we provide are in accordance with the strategic vision.
  • Customer Information Management: Meticulously manage all customer information in our internal systems.
  • Smart Building Technologies: Develop a deep understanding of smart building technologies and architecture to achieve customer desired outcomes.
  • Support and Collaboration: Provide support to the Engineering Team and Project/Account Managers for data collection, manipulation, and analysis, as well as customer service including troubleshooting, logging of software bugs, and testing.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate student in third or fourth year of coursework or pursuing a graduate/other advanced degree.
  • Qualifications: Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or a substitute degree with building controls/building operations experience.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to meet deadlines and develop good relationships with the Engineering team, fostering and promoting all team members by sharing information, education, learnings, and management.
