Workforce Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead workforce planning and optimization efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, and intra-day management of service levels and employees. Their goal will be to optimize resource utilization and ensure consistent customer satisfaction on the floor.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Real-time management of resources, including receiving and acting on requests from management and suppliers;
  • Rostering, including leave requests and unplanned absences;
  • Accurate maintenance of rosters and database;
  • Coordinate rosters and conduct shift confirmation, publishing rosters in a timely manner;
  • Deliver monthly reports;
  • Ensure accurate timesheet adjustments and liaise with the payroll service to confirm data sent for the pay cycle;
  • Proactively identify staffing vacancies and determine the requirement for additional resources or rostered staff reallocation to meet forecasted customer volume and overall requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in workforce planning in a retail environment;
  • An extensive understanding of employee relations and interpreting retail employment legislation and Enterprise Agreements;
  • A strong ability to build relationships within the business and manage and influence stakeholders effectively;
  • Experience working with and managing time and attendance software (e.g., Tambla, Kronos);
  • Experience in producing reports and analyzing data within a retail environment;
  • Friendly and professional communication, interpersonal, and customer-focused skills;
  • Strong administrative computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Strong time management skills, able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
