Salary Range

$60-$80 per hour (casual rate), depending on location and qualifications.

Job Description

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people living in out-of-home care. You will work with some of Australia's best youth service providers, creating a safe and supportive environment for at-risk youth.

About the Role

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk youth, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meals, and hygiene, to encourage independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate transportation to school, appointments, and community activities, ensuring young people can access essential services.
  • Promote skill development and socialization within the local community, providing opportunities for growth and exploration.
  • Manage health needs, including administering medications and maintaining accurate records, to ensure the well-being of young people.
  • Demonstrate trauma-informed care, supporting young people with complex behaviors using evidence-based approaches.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, or Disability Support Work (or equivalent).
  • An Australian Driver's License (P2 or higher).
  • A Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • The ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts, as required.
