The Role

This Senior Practice Coach (Domestic and Family Violence) position will be responsible for leading targeted learning and development activities, as well as discreet project initiatives that improve staff knowledge and practice when advocating for families experiencing violence. The role combines leadership responsibilities, systems activities, and staff coaching to build nuanced and accountable ways of working with families to ensure family preservation and safety.

Duties
  • Assist in implementing a case management framework for staff learning and development, mirroring the cycle of care provided to clients.
  • Develop a systematised approach to staff practice, aligned with program logics and models of care.
  • Lead the delivery of the Practice Skills Program, focusing on improving practice interventions and professional behaviours of staff related to child protection cases.
  • Case manage staff to provide intensive one-to-one practice improvements, ensuring selection based on lowest client outcome performance across the branch.
  • Lead the development and execution of rigorous risk management practices across Human Service teams, particularly in Youth Justice and Child Safety Out of Home Care and Statutory Interventions.
  • Maintain high consistency and accountability when actioning scheduled tasks in LogiQC.
  • Foster productive relationships with all staff internally and externally.

Requirements
  • A current Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, along with 6-8 years' experience in child protection, youth justice, or mental health.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a performance-driven environment, meeting individual weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the child protection system in Queensland.
  • Experience coordinating multiple services for holistic care, integrating internal agency supports across teams.
  • Ability to travel across the region, hold a current drivers' licence, and work outside core business hours as needed.
