This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in Gladstone.
As a valued member of our care team, you'll play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve what's important to them.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day care, nurturing, and safety in our Out of Home Care Programme;
- Meeting the child or young person's daily care needs such as personal hygiene, health, and well-being;
- Contributing to and maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized;
- Documenting accurately events and developments related to the provision of care;
- Ensuring NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care;
- Utilizing trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision;
- Providing positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety;
- Encouraging social engagement, recreation, and community involvement;
- Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans;
- Advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people;
- Supporting young people in developing essential life skills;
- Promoting positive relationships and connections with family, culture, and community;
About You:
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who has a demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care and adapting responses to meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
You'll have availability to suit a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights.
Essential requirements include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver's license, and current first aid certification.

- A competitive hourly rate of $25.97-$28.78 based on the SCHADS Award 2.1-2.2;
