Job Title: Staff Specialist - Anaesthesia

We are seeking a skilled Anaesthetist to support our surgical and critical care services.

About the Role:
  • Provide anaesthesia for ASA 1 and 2 patients undergoing selected complex major surgical procedures.
  • Support perioperative outpatient consultancy on a rotating roster with fellow Anaesthetists.
  • Contribute to perioperative assessments, patient optimisation, and procedural planning.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive anaesthetic services across four operating theatres. Our Anaesthetist works closely with Surgical and Emergency Department teams, contributing to a supportive and collegial multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined by the hospital.
  • Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on-call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care.
  • Provision of education and research as determined by the hospital.
  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
  • Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Anaesthesia.
  • Skills in communication, leadership, and management.

The hospital operates on a 1:4 On Call roster and you may be called to the Emergency Department to provide Trauma Support or airway management.
