">Join our team and support surgical and critical care services, providing comprehensive anaesthetic services across four operating theatres and a broad elective surgical caseload. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing anaesthesia for a range of procedures including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Dental Surgery, Urology, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Delivering anaesthesia for ASA 1–5 patients, perioperative airway management, ventilation, and acute pain services.
- Contributing to perioperative assessments, patient optimisation, and procedural planning in collaboration with Surgical and Emergency Department teams.
- Providing on-call duties on a 1:4 roster and responding to trauma and emergency airway needs as required.
- Engaging in perioperative outpatient consultancy on a rotating roster with fellow Anaesthetists.

">As Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia, you will have the opportunity to work in a level 4 service providing anaesthesia for ASA 1–2 patients for selected complex procedures and ASA 3–5 for common, intermediate, and selected major procedures.
Eligible International Medical Graduates can take advantage of Expedited Specialist Pathways which provide a streamlined route for specialist registration in Australia.
Additionally, the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme offers up to $10,000 in relocation assistance and up to 4 months of accommodation to help with your move.
Relocation support includes access to a personal settlement concierge for housing, schooling, utilities, and general settling-in support.
The role requires admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as determined by HNELHD.
Key qualifications and skills for this role include:
- Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of ANZCA and/or recognised specialist pathways.
- Evidence of medical expertise with recent and comprehensive anaesthesia experience.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with patients, colleagues, and wider health teams.
- Collaborative skills to work within an interdisciplinary framework and with other stakeholders.
- Management capability to adapt to a changing health system, with leadership and safety/quality improvement experience.
- Professional commitment to continuous professional development, peer review, and clinical governance.
- Advocacy for improvements in individual and societal health.
