Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Anaesthetist to provide comprehensive anaesthetic services across four operating theatres.

  • Orthopaedics – Hip and Knee replacement, general orthopaedic procedures
  • General Surgery – Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, bowel resections, hernia repairs, excision of skin lesions and gastroenterology cases
  • Dental Surgery
  • Urology procedures
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology – including support for labour epidurals

You will provide anaesthesia for ASA 3 to 5 patients undergoing common and intermediate and selected major surgical procedures. You will provide emergency airway management, ventilation and acute pain services.

Mandatory Requirements Of This Role Include
  • Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined and required by the organization
  • Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, teaching and emergency/routine care as determined by the organization
  • Provision of education and research as determined by the organization
  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent specialist pathways
  • Evidence of medical expertise with recent and comprehensive experience in Anaesthesia
  • Evidence of scholarship and ongoing professional development, with ability to assist staff and trainees
  • Evidence of strong communication skills with patients and colleagues
  • Evidence of collaboration within an interdisciplinary framework
  • Evidence of management capabilities, leadership, and engagement in safety and quality activities
  • Evidence of professionalism, professional development, and clinical governance
  • Evidence of advocacy for improved health outcomes
