**Job Title:** Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced anaesthetist to join our team at the Armidale Rural Referral Hospital. As a Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive anaesthetic services across four operating theatres and a broad elective surgical caseload.
You will work closely with the Surgical and Emergency Department teams to deliver high-quality patient care, provide on-call duties, and respond to trauma and emergency airway needs as required.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services in rural NSW.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA
- Fellowship of ANZCA or recognised specialist pathways
- Recent and comprehensive anaesthesia experience
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with patients, colleagues, and wider health teams
- Collaborative skills to work within an interdisciplinary framework and with other stakeholders

- Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as determined by HNELHD
- Attendance and availability during rostered hours and on-call periods
- Provision of education and research as required by HNELHD
