About the Role:

The Chief Finance Officer will provide leadership for the financial management of Queensland Health, ensuring a proactive approach in the management of budgets, delivery of savings programs, and increasing income to ensure the organisation's viability and delivery of surpluses for reinvestment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the organisation.
  • Develop and implement financial management strategies to ensure the organisation's financial stability and growth.
  • Lead the development and implementation of budgets, financial plans, and forecasts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the organisation's financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the Executive Team and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Membership of a recognised Accounting professional body.
  • Appropriate management and senior leadership experience in a similar sized organisation, with health sector expertise highly regarded.
  • Relevant health or management post graduate qualifications highly desirable.
  • Experience in the successful provision of the financial management and procurement functions, including leadership, and the provision of strategic professional advice and recommendations within a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of disaster planning, emergency management, or emergency preparedness.
  • Strategic, analytical and innovative skills in program planning, management and delivery, particularly in relation to a regional environment.

What We Offer:

  • Total remuneration value of up to $276,661 p.a.
  • Salary between $224,090 - $242,128 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
