About This Opportunity

CQUniversity is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance Directorate.

This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of financial accounting practices, legislative requirements, and the ability to analyze and identify financial inconsistencies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling complex reconciliations, performing detailed data analysis, and ensuring accurate system configurations.

They will also be responsible for the collection, administration, and processing of University debtors, using their up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on financial accounting practices and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and regulatory standards
Requirements
  • Relevant degree with subsequent experience, or a broad knowledge in financial accounting practices
  • Demonstrated understanding or ability to acquire understanding of ACCC Guidelines for Collectors and Creditors, Office of Fair Trading guidelines, and other legislative requirements
  • Competence in utilizing large corporate accounting information systems and business support software
  • Proven experience and knowledge of accounting procedures, including accounts receivable and reconciliation processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
