This is an exciting opportunity to join the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network as an Administration Officer in the Casual Pool at the South Coast District Hospital in Victor Harbor.

About the Role

As an Administration Officer, you will provide high-quality, confidential, and customer-focused administrative services to clients, staff, and visitors. Your duties will include providing a reception service, admission and discharge of patients, preparing and running client information reports, word processing/data entry, medical record administrative services, and providing clerical/administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a reception service and manage the front desk
  • Admit and discharge patients, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Prepare and run client information reports, maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Perform word processing and data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Provide medical record administrative services, including filing and retrieval
  • Offer clerical and administrative support to the team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a solid background working in a reception and medical records department. You will need to be well-organized, with a keen eye for detail, and able to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Proven competence in the preparation of medical casenotes, reflecting good data entry and computer skills, is essential. You will also need to be self-motivated, positive, and adaptable to change, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
