Senior Business Development Manager

About the Company: Our client is a leading contractor specializing in civil construction and mining services to tier one miners throughout the Pilbara region.
Salary: $250,000 - $350,000 per annum
Job Description: As a General Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth and implementing strategies to maximize business profitability and reduce costs. This senior management role involves overseeing daily operations, providing executive assistance to the CEO, and executing the business growth plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and make adjustments as necessary.
- Provide high-level executive assistance to the CEO, including preparation of correspondence, reports, budgets, and work plans.
- Execute the business growth plan while achieving or exceeding business P&L objectives.
- Provide on-site leadership for project teams and supervisors by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities, and project milestones.
- Create a positive and motivating atmosphere in the company and provide better growth opportunities for employees.
- Identify and manage core issues and risks.
- Develop, recommend, and implement business plans, operational requirements, organizational structure, staffing, and budgets that support business strategies.
- Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services, and image of the company in the wider community.
- Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation, as needed.
- Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities that either expand on current business or have the potential to generate new revenue streams.
- Work with the HR Department to determine position selection criteria, participate in, and conduct job interviews, and reference checks.
- Conduct probation and annual performance reviews, including providing feedback both positive and constructive to employees, and assist with the creation of development plans in alignment with employee and company goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience in General Management or a similar high-level management role.
- Master of Business Administration or equivalent practical experience.
- Trade qualification in construction or relevant practical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
- Proficiency in Project Management Software.
- Strong Leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills, including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business units.
- Experience in handling contracts, estimating, project management.
- Australian main contractor experience.
- Experience working on civil and mining projects in WA's mining and resources sector (ideally Rio Tinto experience).
- MUST HAVE FULL AUSTRALIAN WORKING RIGHTS.
