About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a purposeful and passionate organization, creating a working environment that fosters excellence and innovation. As the CEO, you will work to deliver exceptional customer service to the Council and Communities, while striving to make the organization more efficient and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Council's mission, vision, values, policies, accountability, and compliance with all relevant Acts, laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Evaluate complex and strategic issues, assess options and risk, and make effective decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive community satisfaction and engagement.
  • Lead the senior leadership team and work in collaboration with elected members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Provide high-level advice to Council and its Committee on financial risk, people management, services, disaster management, and organizational continuity.
Requirements
  • Highly developed team building and leadership skills, proven capacity to direct.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and representation skills and the ability to act as a public spokesperson.
  • Contemporary knowledge of community development and community engagement practice.
  • Deep knowledge of governance and ability to provide high-level advice to Council and its Committee.
  • Proven Chief Executive Officer, Director, or Local Government experience, with knowledge of financial management, employee management, continuous improvement, and governance discipline.
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders at senior levels in government, industry, and communities, and the capacity to work with councillors, communities, and local stakeholders.
What We Offer
  • A total remuneration package of $315,000 per annum.
  • A range of attractive professional and personal benefits, including 11.5% Superannuation contribution, 6 weeks' Annual Leave and 15 Days Personal Leave accrued per year, 17.5% Leave Loading, 15 Public Holiday days per year, and Fringe tax benefits.
