Job Title: Environmental Conservation Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation and management in a professional setting.

  • The successful applicant will undertake inspections of public and private lands to identify priority weeds and enforce relevant legislation as required.
  • Technical expertise in weed control techniques will be provided to land managers, enhancing their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Community education on weed-related matters will be developed and shared, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Control of priority weeds on council-owned land will also be a key responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications or experience in horticulture, conservation, or a related discipline are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in weed identification and control, including the operation and maintenance of powered equipment, is essential.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in electronic mapping systems are necessary for field work.
  • A Class C Driver's Licence (or higher) and General Construction Induction Training Card are mandatory.
  • AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain is also required.
  • SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans accreditation or willingness to obtain is necessary.
  • Vaccination for Q-Fever and provision of evidence is a requirement.
