Environmental Management Specialist

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team and implement best practice management for the control of priority weeds and preservation of local natural resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake inspections on public and private lands for priority weeds and enforce provisions of legislation when required.
  • Identify weeds and provide specialist technical expertise to land managers in relation to weed control techniques.
  • Enhance community knowledge on weed related matters by developing and sharing educational material and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Control priority weeds on own land.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and/or experience in Horticulture, Conservation or similar related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in identification and control of weeds including the operation and maintenance of powered equipment.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to use electronic mapping systems in the field.
  • Class C Driver's Licence (LR Licence or higher is desirable).
  • General Construction Induction Training Card.
  • AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
  • SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) or willingness to obtain.
  • In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Q-Fever and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
