Environmental Sustainability Expert

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Environment Advisor to join our team in ensuring environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and stakeholder engagement across major infrastructure projects.

This role is pivotal in supporting the development, implementation, and control of project environmental plans. As an Environmental Sustainability Expert, you will be accountable for:

  • Demonstrating a personal commitment to safety, health, and environment policies and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining awareness of hazards and associated risks and demonstrating a commitment to eliminate or minimize those risks.
  • Understanding and effectively undertaking accountabilities.
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives that promote environmental practices.
  • Helping to create a climate that encourages innovation and receptivity to environmental initiatives.
  • Demonstrating daily personal behavior that upholds company values and contributes to team effectiveness.
  • Being persistent with improvement ideas, including building team member buy-in to ideas.
  • Listening to team members' improvement ideas and having informed opinions about their merit.
  • Managing all day-to-day liaisons with clients in respect of environmental management.
  • Liaising with managers and subcontractor organizations as required.
  • Identifying and obtaining relevant approvals and licenses from relevant authorities and government.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification relevant to the field of operation of the position and at least 5 years construction experience in the related field. They must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship skills, and a sound knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements. The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card and undergo a medical assessment prior to commencement.
