Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team as a Vegetation Management Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing best practice management for the control of priority weeds and preservation of local natural resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertaking inspections on public and private lands for priority weeds and enforcing provisions of relevant legislation when required.
  • Identifying weeds and providing specialist technical expertise to land managers in relation to weed control techniques.
  • Enhancing community knowledge on weed related matters by developing and sharing educational material and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Qualifications and/or experience in Horticulture, Conservation or similar related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in identification and control of weeds including the operation and maintenance of powered weed spraying equipment.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to use electronic mapping systems in the field.
  • A Class C Driver's Licence (LR Licence or higher is desirable).
    General Construction Induction Training Card.
    AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
Benefits:

This is a permanent, full-time position offering a commencing salary at $2582.98 gross per fortnight with opportunities for progression.
