Job Opportunity

The role of Senior Resident Medical Officer involves delivering quality patient care in a challenging clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in complex settings.
  • Work under appropriate supervision, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients across various age groups and conditions.
  • Operate in diverse inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • May be required to work at different facilities within the NSW public health system.
Term Allocations:
  • 5 terms are allocated within the RMO clinical year.
  • All RMOs are expected to undertake at least one term in Emergency and one term in Relief.
Requirements:
  • Hold an MBBS or equivalent degree.
  • Be currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  • Australian and NZ Graduates/Competent Authority Pathway Candidates must complete 2 postgraduate years as a medical officer in an acute hospital setting.
  • Standard Pathway Candidates must complete a minimum of 3 postgraduate years as a medical officer in an acute hospital setting and practiced clinical medicine in an acute hospital setting for a minimum of 12 months out of the past 2 years.

Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment, and expertise. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
