Advanced Clinical Leadership Position

Clinical nurse consultants play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. As an advanced clinical leader, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance related to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices.

This includes ensuring that infrastructure and processes comply with AS5369 Standard across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, including all central sterilising departments, endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services, and other areas that reprocess reusable medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and expertise related to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
  • Evaluate and improve current practices and protocols to ensure compliance with AS5369 Standard.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to drive adherence to reprocessing best practices and infection prevention standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent qualification.
  • Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australasia (GENCA) endoscopy reprocessing training or willingness to undertake.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in an Infection Prevention and Control senior nursing role.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Credentialed status with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control or willingness to obtain.
  • Working knowledge of software used in clinical and management environments.
