The Role:

We're seeking a talented Sous Chef or Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. Located in the heart of Mordialloc, Chiki Chan offers a vibrant and laid-back atmosphere where culinary creativity thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and execute a modern Asian-inspired menu that showcases our passion for flavors and techniques
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Chiki Chan's recipes and standards, ensuring exceptional presentation and taste
  • Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and WHSE compliance, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Lead, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere
  • Contribute to a positive, innovative kitchen culture that thrives on teamwork and creativity
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are consistently followed, maintaining high standards of quality and service

About You:

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences and has the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment
  • Relevant culinary degree or relevant certification
  • Strong understanding of Asian flavors, techniques, and ingredients
  • Passion for food innovation and creativity in the kitchen
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards of quality
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to continuous learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Food Safety certificate
  • Right to work in Australia
