About the role

Chiki Chan is looking for full-time talented Sous Chefs and Chefs to join our dynamic kitchen team. Located in the heart of Mordialloc, Chiki Chan blends traditional Asian techniques with modern culinary creativity in a vibrant, laid-back atmosphere.

Typical duties will include:

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and execute a modern Asian-inspired menu
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Chiki Chan's recipes and standards.
• Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and WHSE compliance
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
• Lead, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels efficiently
• Contribute to a positive, innovative kitchen culture that thrives on teamwork and creativity
• Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are consistently followed.

About you

We are looking for someone that is passionate about delivering the ultimate experience to our guests. In addition, the successful applicant will need to have the following but not limited to:

• 2+ years experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment
• Relevant culinary degree or relevant certification
• Strong understanding of Asian flavors, techniques, and ingredients
• Passion for food innovation and creativity in the kitchen
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high standard of quality
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Food Safety certificate.
• Right to work in Australia.
