Estimator Job Description

This is a full-time permanent estimating role that requires creating accurate estimates and quotes for construction projects.

  • Creating estimates and quotes
  • Analysing project requirements
  • Communicating with clients and suppliers
  • Assisting with project coordination and scheduling
  • Work closely with the finance director, business development manager and drafting team to ensure smooth project delivery

The successful candidate will take charge of a construction estimate, using their skills to accurately measure a project, formulate a quote and track key metrics within the company.

About You
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an estimating role in construction, ideally working on structural steel projects up to $300k in value
  • Experience with E1 (Estimate One) software
  • Confident in creating tenders and having an excellent understanding of the estimating process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think outside of the box and consider design challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant estimating software
