The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team in a clinic setting within the Immigration Detention Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, initiating treatment and referrals in emergency situations, and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of clinical care, including mental health assessments, treatment planning, and medication management.
  • Initiate appropriate treatment and referrals in emergency situations, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes, including health promotional activities and medication administration.

Requirements

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Div. 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and crisis management skills.
  • Current First Aid/BLS certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Federal Police Check or willingness to obtain.
