About the Role:
The Family Support Officer works with families to improve their wellbeing and safety. This involves building rapport with families, providing practical strategies, and linking them with local services and community groups.
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with families and provide support to strengthen parenting capacity
- Assess family needs through engagement and consultation
- Develop and implement culturally appropriate strategies
- Maintain accurate records and case notes
- Develop effective relationships with community services and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Certificate IV or higher in Community Services or similar field
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess risk and develop safety plans
- Current driver's licence and Working with Children Blue Card check
