About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Utility Engineer to join our team in New South Wales, Australia. As a key member of our Civil and Highways Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our exciting pipeline of infrastructure projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Civil 3D or 12D software to provide 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities in appropriate 3D software.
  • Identify utility impacts resulting from civil/structural designs and resolve clashes and spaceproof design relocations.
  • Coordinate with utility authorities to obtain inputs for design, protection, and relocation requirements and approvals.
  • Manage subcontractors such as Water Service Coordinators (WSC) and Electrical designers (ASP3).
  • Review design documents and ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interfaces with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and client to keep them informed of project developments.
  • Provide leadership and technical advice to project team members.
  • Manage design development, quality assurance, and client feedback, ensuring effective communication of changes/modifications.
  • Provide direction to the project team, leading by example to achieve sector goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified engineering professional with professional accreditation.
  • Demonstrated years of relevant post-graduate experience, including supervising aspects of a project, application of standards, and technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing utility approval processes for major utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating, and delegation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience working in multi-discipline design and/or project teams.
