Position Overview:

In response to the ongoing expansion of our Civil and Highways Engineering division, we are seeking a Utilities Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting a dynamic portfolio of infrastructure initiatives throughout Australia.

We provide a flexible working model, enabling you to balance remote work with office attendance based on your preferences. The successful candidate will be expected to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Civil 3D or 12D software for 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities;
  • Assessing utility impacts arising from civil and structural designs, resolving clashes, and managing design relocations;
  • Collaborating with utility authorities to gather necessary inputs for design, protection, and relocation approvals;
  • Overseeing subcontractors, including Water Service Coordinators (WSC) and Electrical designers (ASP3);
  • Reviewing design documentation to ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interdisciplinary interfaces;
  • Cooperating with other design disciplines to maintain the integrity of the overall project design;
  • Communicating with the Project Manager and clients to keep them updated on project developments;
  • Providing leadership and technical guidance to project team members;
  • Managing design development, quality assurance, and client feedback while ensuring effective communication of any modifications;
  • Leading the project team by example to achieve sector objectives and fostering a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

We seek individuals who share our commitment to enhancing quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering with professional accreditation and will have:

  • Significant post-graduate experience, including project supervision, application of standards, and technical expertise;
  • Experience managing utility approval processes for major utility relocations and protection designs on infrastructure projects;
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with strong influencing, motivating, and delegation skills;
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, both internally and externally;
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design and/or project teams.
