Position Overview:

In response to ongoing expansion within our Civil and Highways Engineering division, we are seeking a Utilities Engineer to become an integral part of our team in New South Wales. This role involves supporting a dynamic array of infrastructure projects throughout Australia.

We provide a flexible working model, enabling you to balance remote work with office presence according to your preferences. The successful candidate will be expected to work at least three days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Civil 3D or 12D software for 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities;
  • Assessing utility impacts stemming from civil and structural designs, and resolving clashes and spatial design relocations;
  • Collaborating with utility authorities to gather design inputs, protection, and relocation requirements;
  • Overseeing subcontractors, including Water Service Coordinators (WSC) and Electrical designers (ASP3);
  • Reviewing design documentation to ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interdisciplinary interfaces;
  • Cooperating with other design disciplines to maintain the integrity of the overall design;
  • Communicating with the Project Manager and clients to keep them updated on project developments;
  • Providing leadership and technical guidance to project team members;
  • Managing design development, quality assurance, and client feedback while ensuring effective communication of changes;
  • Leading the project team by example to achieve sector objectives and fostering a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven years of relevant post-graduate experience, including oversight of project aspects, application of standards, and technical expertise;
  • Experience in managing utility approval processes for significant utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects;
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with strong influencing, motivating, and delegation skills;
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, both internally and externally;
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design and/or project teams.
