
Senior Family Services Specialist

The position of Senior Social Worker Level 3 is located within the Mid North Coast Local Health District and focuses on providing psychosocial and parenting interventions with vulnerable families participating in the Sustaining NSW Families program.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist social work and counselling interventions to enhance parenting capacity, promote healthy family functioning, and support families during change.
- Collaborate with nurse home visitors and other team members in casework, group work, and community education to address family needs.
- Work with families with complex issues and potential exposure to trauma, using advanced reasoning skills and operating autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision.
- Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Extensive experience working with families with complex clinical presentations in perinatal mental health, child protection, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
- Advanced therapeutic skills in conducting complex psychosocial assessments and counseling for vulnerable families in stressful situations.
- Experience providing clinical consultation, facilitating case reviews, and developing cooperative relationships with other health teams, government agencies, and non-government organizations.
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, organizational skills, and computer literacy.
Employment Details: Permanent Part Time, Hours per Week: 20, Remuneration: $56.69 - $58.52, Position Classification: Social Worker Level 3.
