Family Violence Response Specialist

This role entails delivering high-quality support services to women and children who are experiencing family violence across the Bayside Peninsula Region.

The Family Violence Response Specialist is an integral team member, working with women and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to provide specialist family violence response services.

  • Risk and needs assessments are undertaken to identify the best course of action for each client.
  • Family violence response services are coordinated to be child-focused, developmentally appropriate, and culturally safe.
  • Service delivery addresses the unique risks, needs, and impact of trauma posed by family violence to CALD clients.
  • Safety planning and liaison with other services and stakeholders are ensured to increase the safety of clients.

Key Qualifications:

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field is essential, along with experience working with women and children who have experienced family violence.
  • Experience using MARAM to assess risk, needs, and protective factors of women and children is demonstrated.
  • Familiarity with working with CALD and indigenous backgrounds, as well as LGBTIQA+ communities, is required.
