Job Opportunity: Capital Project Coordinator

About the Role

This position is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of capital projects across Defence bases in Australia. As a key member of our project team, you will assist in managing and delivering these projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain Health Safety and Environmental systems and take responsibility for areas under your direction.
  • Manage the commercial success of the project for both client and company.
  • Represent the client's best interests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain positive client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the project team to achieve optimal performance from all members.
Project Stages:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing pre-design, design, construction, and completion stages of the project. They will establish and adhere to the overall project programme, ensuring the highest quality of final product.

  • Pre-design stage: Conduct thorough site analysis, identify potential risks, and develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • Design stage: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design meets client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Construction stage: Oversee the construction process, including site management, contractor supervision, and quality control.
  • Completion stage: Ensure timely project completion, coordinate handover activities, and conduct final inspections.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant property or construction related discipline or related field, or a combination of formal education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and experience in managing cost reporting systems.
  • Understanding of legal environment for each project in respect of planning, commercial aspects, and delivery constraints.
  • Ability to carry out commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and authorities.
