Job Title:

The Project Management Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing Cumberland City Council's capital projects, ensuring they comply with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains processes to manage project life cycles
  • Maintains an overview of the council's capital project portfolio for current and future years
  • Acts as a gatekeeper for capital projects prior to construction, ensuring compliance with project management methodologies and the full project lifecycle
Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma level formal qualifications in civil engineering and/or Project Management
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in computer-based project lifecycle management/project management frameworks
  • Hands-on project delivery experience in large and complex project environments, preferably in civil infrastructure and building construction works
  • Experience in managing complex issues to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Proficient in using Microsoft products, including Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio
  • Good working knowledge of key project processes, including status reporting, planning, dependency management, risk and issue management, hold points, and change management
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Class C driver licence
