About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our team at Holcim. As a key member of our payroll function, you will be responsible for leading a team of payroll professionals in providing a professional and responsive service in accordance with statutory regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the payroll team in processing accurate and timely payrolls, including weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environment (SHE) legislation and policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior executives, administrative professionals, and operational employees, to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity within the payroll function.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
About you

We are looking for a self-motivated and outcome-orientated leader with a strong background in payroll processing and leadership. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment and be able to foster trust and effective relationships across all levels of the organization.

You will also need to have:

  • A Business or Payroll Administration qualification.
  • Significant End to End payroll processing experience within large, complex, and high-volume environments.
  • Proven experience as a positive and energetic leader ideally within related industrial sectors.
  • Strong leadership ability, excellent communication, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in Chris21 (iChris) system.
  • Sound understanding of Industrial Awards/Enterprise Agreements.
  • Numerical accuracy, strong attention to detail, and advanced use of Excel.
  • An ability to foster trust and effective relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to successfully prioritize competing demands.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the following systems: Google, Kronos/Dimensions (UKG), ServiceNow, SuccessFactors.
  • Experience using IT Support systems (i.e. Servicenow) to prioritize, triage, and support end-user issues.
  • Be a demonstrated initiative-taker with capability to take ownership of tasks.
