Business Development Manager

We are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join our Utilities/Energy Sector team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and delivering business strategies that drive growth and profitability.

  • Develop a strategic plan to increase profitable revenue in the sector.
  • ID opportunities for account management to improve customer experience and retention.
  • Raise the profile of major accounts by providing strategic initiatives and value-added propositions.
  • Prepare and review tender submissions and preferred supplier agreements.
  • Prepare and present key business proposals to senior-level clients.
  • Meet with key clients to identify opportunities to increase market share.
  • Propose large account opportunity structures and present to the Head of Sales for approval.
  • Partner with sales teams to identify areas of growth.
  • Manage multi-location client relationships.
  • Report all account information, customer contacts, and opportunities within the company's CRM system.
  • Lead a team directly or indirectly if required.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years selling or sales management experience in developing strategies and realising outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the power market, including cost of energy, energy trading, and renewables.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical: ability to quickly assimilate and synthesise complex data and information into a fact-based decision-making framework.
