About the Role

The Facilities Officer plays a pivotal role in the overall operation of the Southern Precinct, serving as an essential customer liaison with internal and external stakeholders of Council. This position is a key point of contact for sporting groups, community groups, and management committees to connect with Council's Southern facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the smooth running of Council's Public halls, community centres, sportsgrounds, and showgrounds.
  • Perform the role of "Management Committee Ombudsman" for Council Management Committees and provide advice and assistance with issues.
  • Prepare reports to Council and others as required.
  • Provide assistance with grant applications.
  • Ensure public hire activities are in accordance with Management Committee Guidelines and Council's adopted Fees & Charges.
  • Promote high-level customer service, provide professional and prompt responses to requests or complaints, and administer bookings for Council-managed community facilities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in business, property management, recreation planning or management, event management, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Experience in community facility management.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
