Leadership Opportunity in a Remote Setting

The role of Head Chef is a vital position that plays a key part in the overall success of our remote mine site village.

  • Responsibilities include overseeing all kitchen operations for breakfast, lunch & dinner service and providing a buffet style service to employees.
  • Manage and mentor a team of chefs, kitchen hands & dining room staff to ensure high productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and food safety compliance to guarantee employee health and wellbeing.
  • Prepare meals to the highest standards to meet the expectations of employees.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) compliance by adhering to safe work practices and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Certification III in Commercial Cookery as a minimum requirement.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Proven experience as a head chef or sous chef in mining or remote settings, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen procedures and operations, including bulk catering environments.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess strong leadership qualities and have the ability to manage a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities. You will also be an effective communicator, able to collaborate with colleagues and build strong relationships with your team.
