Lead Kitchen Operations in Remote Mine Site

We are seeking an experienced chef to oversee kitchen operations at a remote mine site. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in bulk catering and cooking environments.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of chefs, kitchen hands, and dining room staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and food safety compliance to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control, and cleanliness.
Requirements:
  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery - Minimum.
  • Proven experience as a head chef or sous chef in mining or remote settings.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience within bulk catering/ cooking environments.
  • Knowledge of kitchen procedures and operations.
  • Ability to mentor staff, write menus, control stock, and liaise with clients.
  • Familiarity with hygienic work practices and HACCP guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
  • Certification in commercial cookery.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in bulk catering/cooking environments.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and procedures.
  • Able to manage teams and prioritize tasks effectively.
