About the Role

This Senior Estimator will play a crucial part in the Commercial & Trade function at Bunnings, reporting to the National Installations Services and Compliance Manager based at the Bunnings Support Office. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an Estimator or similar within the Building and Construction industry, along with a strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, materials, labour rates, and construction methods across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects related to Supply and Install.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, labour rates, and material costs to produce informed estimates.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Foster effective communication with S&I Solution Specialists, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project expectations.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports that provide insights into cost trends and project performance.
  • Enhance estimating processes and methodologies.
  • Educate the team on market rate changes and key considerations when communicating or evaluating estimates/quotes.
  • Ensure all estimates adhere to relevant Australian Standards (AS) and State regulations.
  • Create and maintain templates and recipes using take-off and estimating software.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification or Diploma of Building and Construction or similar desirable.
  • 3 – 5 years working as an Estimator within a building company responsible for whole-of-building take-off and estimates.
  • Experience with Take-Off software, e.g., BuildXact, BuilderTrend, including recipe development & proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret plans and engineering.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labour, and overhead for various construction projects, including residential and commercial builds.
  • Experience in researching and analysing current market rates for labour, materials, and subcontractor services to ensure estimates reflect accurate industry pricing and benchmarking outputs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
Salary: AU$80,000 - AU$110,000 per annumBenefits:
