Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the commercial aspects of our IT projects and contracts.

As a Commercial Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

- Establishing and managing commercial agreements with vendors.
- Developing strategic partnerships with vendors to facilitate positive business relationships.
- Managing contractual requirements with vendors to ensure compliance and business continuity.
- Handling contractual disputes escalated from IT contracts.
- Identifying opportunities to leverage vendor capabilities and maximize value.
- Building and managing vendor risk management strategies with the IT vendor management team.
- Producing required reporting to communicate individual vendor performance and portfolio-level SLAs.
- Assessing vendor service quality, costs, and capabilities on an ongoing basis.
- Contributing to service level management processes by negotiating new SLAs with vendors.
- Providing expertise in IT commercial practices to ensure relevant frameworks and policies are applied.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

- A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of direct work experience in commercial management of suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of contract regulations and laws, including procurement obligations.
- Broad working knowledge of current IT technologies, including cyber security, information management, digital, customer experience, and asset management.
- Effective negotiation and bartering skills.
- Personnel management experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Analytical capabilities to conform to shifting priorities and purchasing timelines.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements for Victorian water agencies.
