The company is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its team. This role will involve providing legal advice and support to the business, as well as managing and building customer contacts.
- Provide legal review, negotiation, drafting and settlement of contracts and other commercial arrangements.
- Negotiate commercial terms with business partners and other parties involved in bids/sales to uphold strong positions for the company.
- Work closely with operations management and sales teams to implement risk assessment and contract management policies.
- Ensure compliance with company practices, contract management guidelines and code of conduct.
- Resolving contractual disputes and differences in collaboration with the commercial and operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in law.
- Must have a current practicing certificate.
- Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience – essential.
- Experience in providing contractual and legal advice and support within a construction, engineering or technology industry gained within private practice or an in-house environment.
- Excellent understanding of commercial and contract law.
- Experience in disputes and litigation.
- Ability to negotiate with both internal and external customers and represent the company's best interests without being adversarial.
- Experience in dealing with tenders/RFPs and other procurement type documentation.
