Job Title: Security Expert

Ongoing - Our Departmental Security Unit provides interesting and diverse security services to the department nationally.

About the Role:

  • Leading a small team in delivering the department's security services and contributing to a wide range of operational security matters
  • Promoting a positive security and risk culture to ensure employees value and protect Australian Government resources
  • Providing advice to a broad range of stakeholders on security policies and procedures in line with the PSPF, including senior executives and business areas
  • Identifying and reporting on emerging security issues, incidents and trends, providing suggested solutions where applicable
  • Undertaking security assessments and documenting and communicating the outcomes to relevant stakeholders
  • Preparing briefings and presenting at a range of forums
  • Managing security incidents and conducting investigations

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective people management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with various business areas to create solutions that align with the department's strategic objectives
  • Ability to positively engage with colleagues on key security initiatives
