Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Multicultural Child Caseworker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing vital casework support to children, young people, foster carers, and their birth families.

Your main goal will be to achieve stable, permanent care outcomes by working collaboratively with government agencies and other key organisations.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Management: Undertake end-to-end casework, including assessments, planning, placement support, monitoring, and reviews.
  • Permanency Planning: Apply current permanency planning principles to develop, implement, and review case plans.
  • Placement Matching: Match children and young people with foster carers based on our multicultural foster care model.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with government agencies and other organisations on referrals and reportable activities.
  • Advocacy & Support: Ensure the views of children and young people are considered, provide essential information and support to foster carers, and work collaboratively with various support services.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in child protection or Out-of-Home Care (OOHC).
  • A relevant tertiary degree or currently enrolled in one.
  • Experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Well-developed analytical, organisational, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A valid NSW driver's license.
  • Intermediate level skills in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
