Are you a passionate and resilient advocate for children and families? We are looking for a dedicated Multicultural Child & Family Program Caseworker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.
About the Role
As a Caseworker in our Multicultural Child & Family Support Program (MCFP), you will provide vital casework support to children, young people, foster carers, and their birth families. Your main goal is to achieve stable, permanent care outcomes by working collaboratively with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and other key organisations.
This role requires a unique blend of empathy and proactivity. You'll be a vital link, a positive influencer, and a strong negotiator, all while working under pressure with excellent time management. You'll ensure that every child's voice is heard, and their best interests are at the heart of every decision.
Key responsibilities will include :
- Case Management : Undertake end-to-end casework, including assessments, planning, placement support, monitoring, and reviews.
- Permanency Planning : Apply current permanency planning principles to develop, implement, and review case plans.
- Placement Matching : Match children and young people with foster carers based on our multicultural foster care model.
- Stakeholder Liaison : Work closely with the DCJ and other government and non-government organisations on referrals and reportable activities.
- Advocacy & Support : Ensure the views of children and young people are considered, provide essential information and support to foster carers, and work collaboratively with various support services.
About You
You are a compassionate and highly organised individual with a strong commitment to ethical practice. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have the proven ability to build trust and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Essential criteria we're looking for :
Proven experience in child protection or Out-of-Home Care (OOHC).A relevant tertiary degree or currently enrolled in one.Experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.Well-developed analytical, organisational, and negotiation skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.A valid NSW driver's license.Intermediate level skills in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.Please reach out to us for the full Position Description to review the Key Responsibilities and Measures of success.
