The Opportunity

As a Technical Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our Case Management teams by providing expert guidance on compensation payment schemes and assisting with their administration.

You will work in a customer-centric environment that focuses on proactive claims management, using your experience and expertise to coach team members and provide strategic advice in accordance with Victorian workers compensation law and Work Safe Victoria guidelines.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical support to claims teams in line with Victorian workers compensation law and Work Safe Victoria guidelines.
  2. Offer regular advice and feedback to Claims Specialists/Case Managers and Team Leaders, improving overall quality of decisions related to liability, work capacity, permanent impairment, and weekly payment entitlements.
  3. Review and provide feedback on current claims management practices and procedures, ensuring emerging trends are identified and managed.
  4. Develop strategic initiatives and procedures to ensure all service, performance, and compliance measures are achieved.
  5. Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Assist with organizational compliance with legal, governance, and Work Safe Victoria agent requirements.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Specialist with:

  • Strong technical experience, preferably within the Victorian workers compensation scheme.
  • Experience in managing workers compensation claims across various segments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in leadership, particularly coaching and supporting others to succeed.
  • Qualifications in Law and working experience in personal injury litigation would be highly advantageous.
