Data Center Operations Specialist, Critical Infrastructure Expert

The Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Amazon Data Centers, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.
This is a 6-month fixed-term hire with potential to become a full-time role. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure work aligns with established practices and local legislation.
- Maintaining performance benchmarks, conducting analyses, and preparing reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generating Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
- Contributing to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assisting with installation of racks, providing power and cooling within constraints.
- Routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Learning about design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
- Managing Facility assets and provision of infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- Participating in Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
- Ensuring Work Order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
- Interfacing with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
- Resolving any infrastructure engineering or services issue.
This position requires a physical component, involving lifting rack equipment, working in cramped spaces, or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
