About the Role:

As a Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of Amazon's data centers. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in data center engineering and a passion for ensuring the smooth operation of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with established practices and local legislation.
  • Maintain performance benchmarks and conduct analyses to prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  • Contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
  • Assist with the installation of racks and provision of power/cooling within constraints.
  • Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Manage Facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
  • Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Resolving any infrastructure engineering or services issue.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Meeting daily hours of operations, shift, and on-call requirements for response during shift rotations.

Qualifications:

  • High school (HSC) or equivalent diploma.
  • 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
  • BASIC awareness of mechanical and/or electrical systems.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a physical component involving the ability to lift rack equipment and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
